ABOUT THE ROLE

The Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) has an outstanding national and international reputation for clinical audit and clinical and health services research. This is a great opportunity for two enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Management as we enter a new and exciting phase as we develop our strategy for the next five years.

A Trustee of ICNARC will work in partnership with other Trustees and the Executive Team to ensure that the Charity is effectively managed.

Their main responsibilities will include

– ensuring that ICNARC complies with its governing document (its Articles of Association), charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations

– ensuring that ICNARC pursues its objects as defined in its governing document

– ensuring ICNARC applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects

– contributing actively to the board of trustees’ role in giving firm strategic direction to ICNARC, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets

– safeguarding the good name and values of ICNARC

– ensuring the financial stability of ICNARC

– protecting and managing the property of ICNARC and to ensure that proper investment of ICNARC’s funds

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for individuals with:

– A keen interest in operating within a board in a not for profit organisation.

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to challenge constructively.

– Sound judgement and ability to think corporately and strategically; ability to handle competing priorities and make informed decisions.

– Interest in the benefits to society of national clinical audit and health services research

– A supportive attitude towards ICNARC’s strategy & vision.

– A professional background in one or more of the following:

1. Current or recent senior health management experience in the UK
2. Knowledge of current NHS policy
3. Knowledge and experience in national clinical audit and health services research

We meet four times annually and our meetings are held in the afternoons from 2:00pm – 4:00 pm, along with a couple of away days.
