About the role

The Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) has an outstanding national and international reputation for clinical audit and clinical and health services research. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced statistician to join our dynamic team and jointly lead the statistical work of the Centre alongside our Head Statistician, Professor David Harrison.

You will have the opportunity to develop your own portfolio of statistical/methodological research, within the goals of the Centre, as well as to take responsibility for statistical delivery of national clinical audits, clinical trials and health services research studies from design through to dissemination via peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international meetings/conferences.

Substantial, multi-year grant funding supports our broad portfolio of national and international collaborative research studies (conducted within our UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Unit) conducted to influence and inform the policy and practice of adult and paediatric emergency and critical care in the UK and globally. Our research portfolio is underpinned by cutting-edge, statistical/methodological research including novel clinical trial designs, methods for non-randomised comparisons, handling of missing data and statistical modelling.
