About the role

The Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) has an outstanding national and international reputation for clinical audit and clinical and health services research. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious statistician to join our dynamic team led by our Head Statistician, Professor David Harrison.

You will be involved in statistical delivery of national clinical audits, clinical trials and health services research studies from design through to dissemination, with opportunities for authorship of peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international meetings/conferences. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in statistical/methodological research.

Substantial, multi-year grant funding supports our broad portfolio of national and international collaborative research studies (conducted within our UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Unit) conducted to influence and inform the policy and practice of adult and paediatric emergency and critical care in the UK and globally. Our research portfolio is underpinned by cutting-edge, statistical/methodological research including novel clinical trial designs, methods for non-randomised comparisons, handling of missing data and statistical modelling.

About you:

Applicants should hold a MSc or PhD in a relevant area and have experience in analysis of healthcare data. You will have knowledge of programming in standard statistical software, for example Stata, SAS or R, and excellent communication skills.
